The creators of a planned independent charter school in Westchester will hold an informational meeting Thursday evening.

The event is intended for those interested in becoming founding families of Westchester Secondary Charter School, which plans to open in fall 2012 with sixth through ninth grades. The institution would eventually educate both middle- and high-schoolers.

It is backed by parents from the Westchester area.

The meeting is from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the community room of the Westchester Municipal Building, 7166 W. Manchester Ave.
